Art of all kinds
In Vanity, viewers would sit down to look in a mirror and find a monitor looking back at them. This video collage consisted of TV ads and Youtube videos with conflicting ideas surrounding sex appeal, virginity, beauty, and gender standards. The bright lights and oppressive audio added to the intensity of the various opinions expressed in the video. Created for a sculpture class, this work consisted of two speakers, a TV monitor, 7 light bulbs, a vanity made of wood.
